Bongbong Marcos has this response to Rodrigo Duterte’s claim
President Bongbong Marcos has reacted to former President Rodrigo Duterte’s accusations that he is a drug addict.
On Sunday, during his speech at a prayer rally in Davao City, the PRRD said the Philippines has a drug addict president. He claimed that PBBM is “bangag”. This accusation of the former president is not new.
Back in 2022, during the campaign season, Duterte said one of the candidates was involved in illegal drugs. In line with this question, Marcos released the results of the drug test.
The drug allegation was brought up again by the PRRD claiming that Pres. Bongbong Marcos is on the watch list of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
However, The PDEA refuted this claim by the former president. The agency emphasized that PBBM is not and has never been on its list. Even during the PRRD’s controversial drug war, the PDEA said Marcos was never on its list, contrary to the former president’s claim.
In line with PRRD’s claim, PBBM was asked to react based on ABS-CBN News’ report. The president said, “I think it’s fentanyl. Fentanyl is the strongest painkiller you can buy.”
He added that fentanyl is highly addictive and has very serious side effects. Marcos said that PRRD has been taking this medicine for a very long time, about five or six years, and it must be working now.
“Palagay ko kaya nagkagaganyan,” Press. Bongbong Marcos said, adding that he hoped Duterte’s doctors would take good care of him.
When asked if he could categorically deny that he was involved in drugs to end this problem, the president laughed and said: “I won’t even dignify the questions.“
