The eyes of the golf world were on a pre-qualifier for the Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches. That doesn’t happen every day, but then it’s not every day that Tiger Woods‘ son attempts to make his debut on the PGA Tour.
Charlie Woods teed off Thursday morning at Lost Lake Golf Club in Hobe Sound, one of four pre-qualifying sites for the Cognizant Classic, formerly known as the Honda Classic. A top-five finish would mean advancing to the Monday qualifying round for a chance at making the first PGA Tour event of his young career.
Woods is already a state golf champion and has played alongside his father in the past four PNC Championship tournaments in Orlando. The PNC Championship lets PGA Tour members play alongside their family members, and Charlie Woods made his debut at 11 years old after previously caddying for Tiger.
