Counselor Mortada Mansour stated that Hisham, the son of musician Helmy Bakr, authorized him to take the procedures for burying his father, and to follow up on the legal situation regarding his father’s death.
Mansour added in exclusive statements to “Masrawy” that Hisham, the son of musician Helmy Bakr, will arrive in Cairo at 8:30 pm today. “The plane was delayed and he took another plane after that and he will arrive this evening.”
Musician Helmy Bakr passed away yesterday evening, Friday, at the age of eighty-six, inside a hospital in Kafr Saqr in Sharkia Governorate, after suffering from illness.
Mansour indicated that after his arrival in Cairo, “Hisham” will go to Al-Salam Hospital to see his father’s body and complete the rest of the burial procedures. Adding, “I will sit with Hisham after he returns and we will see what legal procedures we will take against his stepmother.”
“Mansour” indicated that he will file a report against the wife of the late musician Helmy Bakr – after coordination with Hisham – in which he will accuse her of kidnapping the musician. “She kidnapped him while he was alive while he was dead,” adding that before his death, contact was made with the Minister of Health, who provided an ambulance to transport Helmy Bakr to a hospital. Hospitals in Cairo, but his wife refused, and with the car being sent repeatedly the next day, she also refused.
According to Mortada Mansour, coordination was made with the Minister of Health with the help of the artist Mostafa Kamel, head of the Musicians Syndicate, and the artist Nadia Mostafa, a member of the Syndicate Council, and a car was provided to transport the body of the late musician after his death, but his wife refused again and tried to transport him in an ambulance, along with 20 other cars belonging to her, to the place she wanted to bury him. For his part, the artist Khaled Bayoumi, head of the Syndicate of Musical Professions, thanked the artist Mustafa Kamel, head of the Syndicate of Musicians, stressing that he had been following up all night from the announcement of his death at six in the evening until eight in the morning, the details of transporting the body of the late musician Helmy Bakr to Cairo and all the details related to the date of the burial as well as the funeral.
Bayoumi continued in exclusive statements to “Masrawy”: “I received instructions from the President and the General Syndicate Council to bear all the costs of the hospital, funeral or burial procedures, and the shroud, and Mustafa Kamel was very keen for the union to bear everything that was legal, and that he would bear everything that was not.” Legal costs from his own pocket.
He pointed out that the delay in the arrival of the son of the late musician Helmy Bakr caused the absence of a specific date for the funeral of the body, as well as the date of the funeral that was scheduled to be held on the evening of Sunday, March 3. He explained, “We were detained in Hamidiya Shazliya when the funeral would be, but we do not know now, with his son’s delay, there is a situation.” Discussion about whether to postpone a day or whether the funeral and funeral will be held in one day, awaiting a final decision, and currently we have almost reserved two days for funerals, Sunday and Monday.”
