Bnei Yehuda players salute the team’s fan. Today (Tuesday) Eliran Atar, Shahar Hirsch, Moti Barshatsky and Eden Otchi arrived at the rehabilitation center for the war wounded “Returning to Life” at Tel Hashomer Hospital, where they visited Amit Hebroni, a fighter in the paratrooper patrol and a die-hard fan of the team.

Amit was injured during a combat operation near Nasser Hospital, where terrorists broke into the apartment where he was staying with his friends, the terrorists threw grenades and shot at Amit and his staff. He was taken by helicopter to Hadassah Hospital and after the first surgery he was transferred to the rehabilitation department and later he will have to undergo another surgery.

Amit is an avid soccer fan, played in the youth divisions of Maccabi Tel Aviv and Kiryat Shmona, a fan of Bnei Yehuda and together with his father they frequent the stands at every game. Even when he stayed in Gaza for a long time without his personal phone, he would keep up to date with the team’s results through letters from the family.

Atar He said: “The privilege that fell to our lot to meet Amit is tremendous. A true hero, an amazing boy with a captivating smile. I’m sure he will go through the rehabilitation and do it in the best possible way. We were very happy to meet him and to hear his story that just gives chills. Amit is part of the Bnei Yehuda family and we are already waiting to see him in the stadium again and to be our guest of honor in the dressing room.”
