Najm Al-Nasr has not yet gotten rid of the controversy of the last signal
No sooner had Cristiano Ronaldo closed the file of his last outgoing signal in the Saudi Roshen League than he sparked controversy with a new one following the end of his team’s match, Al-Nasr, against Al-Ain in the AFC Champions League.
Al Ain was able to decide the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals against its guest, Al Nassr, at its home, Hazza Bin Zayed, with a goal by Sufyan Rahimi. The match witnessed exciting and heated controversial events, especially those related to the referee’s decisions, most notably the expulsion of defender Aymeric Laporte.
The tone of challenge from Al-Nasr stars, media professionals and fans was very strong after the match, but it seemed that the Portuguese star was the first to raise the flag of challenge and before leaving the field heading to the locker room.
A video clip spread of Ronaldo giving Al Ain fans a sign meaning, “We will see you in Riyadh,” as he left the stadium. What is striking is that his face had a cold smile that did not at all reflect the events of the match, and some described it as a smile of confidence!
It is noteworthy that Ronaldo was suspended for one match in the Saudi League after making an outward gesture to Al-Shabab fans during the two teams’ confrontation in the penultimate round of the tournament.
