A short time ago, Aden Golan received with great excitement the news that the song “Hurricane” was officially accepted, and that Israel will participate as planned in the competition in Sweden.

The decision was made by the Eurovision supervisory committee, after discussing the lyrics of the song, written by Keren Pels, Avi Ohion and Stav Begar, and after listening to its performance.

“Guys, I’m so excited, now I’ve been informed that the EBU has approved our song and this year we will participate in Eurovision. There is no doubt that they made the right choice to let us participate this year,” said Eden.

She continued: “This year it is more important than ever that we stand on this stage and represent our country with honor. I intend to do everything to represent our country with pride. To give my all, to reach the maximum result.”

Eden added: “Now we are entering a period of rehearsals and of course you are a very big part of this process and I want to wish us luck and I love you very much.”

Keren Pels, one of the writers of the song, also congratulated her: “Thank God! My whole brain is already a hurricane.”

As I recall, originally the Israeli song submitted for the contest was “October Rain”, which was not approved by the Eurovision supervising committee, due to its political nature. At first the Israeli corporation refused to change the lyrics of the song, but later, after various interventions, including by the President of the country Yitzhak Herzog, the lyrics of the song were changed and his name was changed. Until the last moment, the creators of the song were still required to change the words and today, as mentioned, the official and happy blessing arrived.
