Portuguese Luis Castro, coach of Al-Nasr’s first football team, confirmed that it is not his business to interpret his statements in the press conferences following the matches incorrectly.
According to local media, on Thursday, Castro stated that he said after the match between Al-Nasr and Al-Raed, within the Saudi Roshen League competitions: “How long has Al-Nasr not achieved a championship before achieving the Arab Championship, and do not think that it wins a championship every year.”
Castro told Al-Riyadiah in exclusive statements: “It is not my fault that my statements at the conference were misinterpreted.”
He added: “I want to win championships and matches, and that is why I am in Al-Nassr today.”
Al-Nasr will meet its Al-Ain counterpart in an awaited confrontation, in the second leg of the AFC Champions League quarter-finals, on Monday, after losing the first leg by a goal.
It is noteworthy that Al-Nasr signed a contract with Luis Castro for two seasons last summer, lasting until 2025.
