Imam Ashour, the Al-Ahly player, won the Man of the Match award for his team against Zamalek, which brought them together today, Friday, in the Egypt Cup final at the “Awal Park” Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Imam Ashour scored Al-Ahly’s lead goal before scoring the second goal, scored by Afsha, to lead his team towards winning the cup title for the 39th time in its history.
Ashour is scheduled to receive a financial prize worth $50,000 allocated by the Riyadh Season for the best player in the cup final match.
Al-Ahly’s formation in the cup final was as follows:
Goalkeeper: Mustafa Schubert.
Defense line: Mohamed Hani, Rami Rabia, Mohamed Abdel Moneim, and Ali Maaloul.
Midfield: Amr Al-Soulia, Emam Ashour, Percy Tau, Hussein Al-Shahat, and Karim Nedved.
Offensive line: Mahmoud Kahraba.
Omar Kamal, Akram Tawfiq, Reda Selim, Marawan Attia, Mohamed Magdy Afsha, Mahmoud El-Zanfali, Anthony Modeste, Karim Fouad and Taher Mohamed were on the bench as Al-Ahly’s substitutes.

Mohamed Sobhi, Mahmoud Alaa, Mustafa El-Zenari, Ahmed Hamdy, Mohamed Ashraf “Rouqa”, Nasser Maher, Mahmoud Abdel Razek “Shikabala”, Saif Al-Jaziri, and Samson Akinola were present on the Zamalek substitutes bench.
Al-Ahly qualified for the cup final by defeating Enppi 3-0 last October in the semi-finals of the tournament, while Zamalek qualified at the expense of Pyramids on penalty shoot-out after the end of regular and extra time in a 3/3 draw.
