Hours before the start of the Egypt Cup final match, which is scheduled to be held this evening, Friday, March 8, at Al-Awal Park Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Counselor Turki Al-Sheikh, head of the General Entertainment Authority, published on Facebook an influential video talking about Egyptian-Saudi relations, It includes clips that brought together the rulers of the two countries during the past years, and shows the warm welcome to each other, in confirmation of the deep ties that unite the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The video begins with the voice of Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi Crown Prince, as he spoke about the relations between the two countries. These words were accompanied by shots that brought together the rulers of the two countries at different times, describing the Saudi-Egyptian relationship as solid and strong at the deepest roots of relations between the countries, explaining, “It is not affected in any way by Forms, the history of Egypt and Saudi Arabia always stand together in all circumstances, and this thing has not changed. This is a deep-rooted conviction, not by the leadership in the two countries, but by the peoples of the two countries.”
Then the report shows clips that vary between Egyptian historical landmarks and others that reflect customs and appearances belonging to the Saudi people, and scenes that reflect the mutual love between the two peoples, accompanied by an audio commentary, the words of which are as follows: “It is as if you imagine that Riyadh is conquering the difficulties in establishing it and achieving its dreams and vision, and that Cairo remains a garden of its beauty, its wealth, and the kindness of its people.” And the civilization of its land.
In the video, we saw a Saudi man singing his love for Egypt, saying, “Oh, going to Egypt, who can send my greetings with two words, O people of God, I miss its good people, and I love its sincere people, God willing,” then commented, welcoming an Egyptian young man, “You are all beautiful, and Egypt is the mother of the world.”
The video also confirmed the existence of common stories and anecdotes between the two countries, and a snapshot was shown of the late artist Samir Sabry welcoming the “Arab Artist” Mohamed Abdo, before the latter sang “Egypt Arab Championship” on one of the Egyptian stages.
On the other side, we find the Egyptian people’s affirmation of their love for Saudi Arabia and its people. An Egyptian says about his experience with the Saudi people, “If they know you and love you, it is difficult for them to forget you or you.” Another Saudi says, “Egypt is a country of pyramids, the Nile, treasures, dreams, and the brave. Whoever knows Egypt knows happiness, and whoever drinks.” Whoever gets you will return to you.”
The report reveals that Riyadh embodies creative paintings from Cairo, within the Riyadh season, through the presence of a theater bearing the name “Kawkab Al-Sharq,” and other aspects of celebrating Egyptian art related to “The Brown Nightingale” by Abdel Halim Hafez, and concerts of the masterpieces of “Al-Muji and Al-Sunbati” and holding a legendary evening for the composer. The video concludes with the phrase, “Here, Riyadh, with its longing, always loves you,” and Chancellor Turki Al-Sheikh appears, commenting on Saudi Arabia’s hosting of the Egypt Cup final between the Al-Ahly and Zamalek clubs: “It will be a historic day, God willing, a different cup worthy of Egypt and the name of Egypt… Welcome to the Riyadh season.” .
