The Al-Ahly match witnessed…Zamalek Currently being held at Al-Awal Park Stadium in Saudi Arabia, Al-Abys player Ahmed Sayed Zizou was injured during the last moments of the first half of the match.
Zizou complained of a severe foot injury, as a result of which he left the match minutes before the end of the first half, being carried in an ambulance in the stadium.
Portuguese Gomez, Zamalek’s coach, brought Shikabala on as a substitute for Zizou at the start of the second half of the match.
Zamalek started the match with a formation consisting of:
Goalkeeper: Mohamed Awad.
Defense line: Ahmed Fattouh – Hamza Al-Mathlouthi – Hossam Abdel Majeed – Omar Jaber.
Midfield: Nabil Imad Dunga – Abdullah Al-Saeed – Youssef Obama.
Offensive line: Mustafa Shalabi – Nasser Mansi – Ahmed Mustafa “Zizou”.
On the bench are: Mohamed Sobhi, Mahmoud Alaa, Mustafa El-Zanari, Ahmed Hamdy, Mohamed Ashraf “Rouqa”, Nasser Maher, Mahmoud Abdel Razek “Shikabala”, Saif Al-Jaziri, and Samson Akinola.
Zamalek qualified for the Egypt Cup final at the expense of Pyramids via penalty shootout after the end of regular and extra time in a 3-3 draw, while Al-Ahly qualified by defeating Enppi 3-0 last October in the semi-finals of the tournament.
