Books – Tarek Samir:

The Public Prosecution ordered the imprisonment of an account manager named “Mo Silva” on charges of spreading false news that would disturb public security and spread terror among people in the case of the death of a student at Al-Arish University.

The Public Prosecution stated in a statement today, Saturday, that the Communications and Information Technology Sector of the Ministry of the Interior found that the accused who managed the account called “Mo Silva” was broadcasting false news through accounts that he personally managed through the platforms “Tik Tok,” “YouTube,” and the social networking site “Facebook.” Contrary to the truth, it included that the defendants in the incident of the death of a student at Al-Arish University took obscene pictures of the deceased, threatened to publish them, and poisoned her after she sought help from those in charge of the administration of the college where she studied, who declined to provide her with assistance due to the influence of the defendants’ qualifications.

The Public Prosecution had previously assigned the Communications and Information Technology Sector at the Ministry of the Interior to conduct the necessary technical investigations to examine all the websites that covered the incident, in order to determine whether any of them contained false news or broadcast any of the rumors that would threaten public security and disturb the peace. Whether or not, and in the first case, a statement of that news specifically, the date and means of its publication, and the person who published it.

The Public Prosecution issued its decision to arrest and bring the accused, and upon interrogating him, it determined that he holds an intermediate diploma and works as a YouTuber and clothing merchant. He admitted that he committed the incident and that he was the one who prepared and published the clip containing false news about that incident without verifying the authenticity of the information he broadcast through it. In order to gain views and followers, he also acknowledged the accuracy of his preparation of the clip attributed to him, and that he derived his information from what was published on other sites.

The Public Prosecution ordered the defendant to be detained pending investigations and instructed the examining body to complete its work to notify the managers of the accounts publishing the false news that had been detected.

The Public Prosecution is still investigating the incident and has rushed the Forensic Medicine Authority’s report to determine the specific cause of death.

The Public Prosecution issued a statement last Sunday regarding the death of Naira, a student at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Al-Arish University.

The Public Prosecution stated that the deceased was subjected to psychological pressure resulting from one of her colleagues (the first accused) threatening her to publish correspondence that she surreptitiously transferred from the deceased’s phone to her phone and sent to her colleague (the second accused), who in turn blogged on the group that includes all the students of the university’s batch on the application ( WhatsApp) that one of the students (without mentioning her specifically) had correspondence and pictures of her own, threatening to publish them at the time the students chose on the “group.” This was accompanied by his request that she apologize for the offense she had done to the first accused.

The Public Prosecution charged the two defendants with threatening in writing to disclose matters related to private life accompanied by a request (a felony) and assaulting the sanctity of the victim’s private life (a misdemeanor). It ordered them to be held in pretrial detention pending investigations and to seize their and the victim’s cell phones in order to complete the procedures related to them.
