Rogerio Micale, coach of the Egyptian Olympic team, announced the “Pharaohs” list participating in the West Asian U-23 Championship in Saudi Arabia.
The Egyptian national team is participating in the West Asian Federation U-23 Championship, among 4 teams from outside the region located on the yellow continent.
The fifth edition of the tournament will be held in Al-Ahsa, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, starting March 20, 2024, with the participation of 8 teams: Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq and the Emirates from West Asia, in addition to the teams of South Korea, Thailand, Australia and Egypt as guests, in response to the Federation’s invitation to them to participate in this edition.
The Egyptian national team will meet its Emirati counterpart on the 20th of March, and the winner of that match will qualify for the semi-finals to face the qualifier from the Australia vs. Iraq match, while the losers of the two matches will play against each other on the 23rd of the same month.
The Egyptian national team will play a third match on March 26, which will be determined according to the results of the first two matches.
This tournament comes before the AFC U-23 Cup finals scheduled in the Qatari capital, Doha, in April 2024, and the Paris Olympics in the summer of this year.
