Journalist Medhat Shalaby sent a fiery message to the captain of the Zamalek club’s first team, Mahmoud Abdel Razek Shikabala, after he went off script with some signals, during Al-Ahly’s last confrontation in the Egypt Cup final.
Medhat Shalaby said while presenting his program on MBC Misr: “After the match, Shikabala and Dunga, they did something strange that had no real justification, by heading to the fans and indicating that they would bribe the referee and the clocks, which is what I understood from these signals, and someone else might understand them differently.”
He added: “What you did is not good, Shikabala. I always applaud you because you are a great player, and the same goes for Dunga. But Shikabala is most to blame, because he is the captain of the team and he is not the one who carries out such actions. This is all according to the match referee’s report that was submitted to the committee.” Competitions.
He continued: “I wish, Shikabala, to be more self-regulating, because you are no longer young, and this is a frequent occurrence and not the first time, and I was present on the field. None of the Al-Ahly fans deviated from the script at all.”
He explained: “The captain of Zamalek could be angry because of the result of the match, especially since Zamalek was the best, but this is not right, and if he receives a penalty, it will be implemented at the cup level only.”
It is worth noting that Zamalek lost to Al-Ahly by two unanswered goals, during the match that was held between them last Friday, in the Egypt Cup final, at Al-Awal Park Stadium, in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
