Iftar supplication.. “Oh God, I fasted for you and for your provision I broke my fast.” Say it with the Maghrib call to prayer

Some people wonder about the supplication for breaking the fast RamadanWhich must be said while hearing the Maghrib call to prayer and before starting to eat breakfast. It is published by “The Seventh Day” Breakfast prayer On the authority of Abdullah bin Omar – may God be pleased with him – he said: (When the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, broke his fast, he would say: The thirst has gone, the veins are wet, and the reward is constant, God willing.)

The thirst has gone, meaning: the feeling of thirst has ended… and the veins have been wet, meaning: they have been moisturized by the disappearance of the dryness resulting from thirst… and the reward has been established, meaning: the fatigue has disappeared and the reward has been achieved. This is an encouragement to worship; The fatigue is easy when it goes away, and the reward is great because it persists and remains.

The Prophet – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – also used to say: “O God, I ask You, by Your mercy that encompasses all things, to forgive me.” It was narrated by Ibn Majah from the supplication of Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-Aas, and it was authenticated by Ibn Hajar in compiling the supplications, and he, peace and blessings be upon him, used to say: “Oh God, I fast for you, and with your provision I break my fast,” narrated by Abu Dawud in a mursal report.

Al-Nawawi said in Sharh al-Muhadhdhab: “It is recommended for the fasting person to pray during his fast for important matters in the hereafter and this world for himself, for those he loves, and for the Muslims, based on the hadith of Abu Hurairah, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said May God bless him and grant him peace: “There are three whose supplications are not rejected: the fasting person until he breaks his fast, the just imam, and the oppressed person,” narrated by him. Al-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah, and Al-Tirmidhi said: It is a hasan hadith.

On the authority of Anas bin Malik, may God be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Three supplications are not rejected: the supplication of a father for his child, the supplication of a fasting person, and the supplication of a traveler,” authenticated by Al-Albani.

On the authority of Anas bin Malik, may God be pleased with him, that when the Messenger of God – may God bless him and grant him peace – broke his fast with a family, he would pray for them before breaking the fast, saying: “The fasting people broke their fast with you, the angels descended upon you, the righteous ate your food, and mercy enveloped you,” narrated by Ahmad.
