Al-Ahly club’s first football team set a date with Tanzania’s Simba in the quarter-finals of the African Champions League for the current edition “2023-2024”.
The draw for the quarter-finals of the African Champions League (2023-2024) was held today, Tuesday, at the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football in Cairo.
Date of the Al-Ahly and Simba match
The first leg of the quarter-finals between Simba and Al-Ahly is scheduled to be held in Tanzania on the 29th or 30th of March.
On the other hand, the return match between Al-Ahly and Simba will be held on Sunday, April 5 or 6, in Cairo.
The winner of the Al-Ahly and Simba match is scheduled to meet the winner of the Mazembe and Petro Atletico match in the CAF Champions League semi-finals.
Al-Ahly qualified for the quarter-finals after clinching the top spot in its fourth group with 12 points (3 wins and 3 draws).
While Simba of Tanzania finished second in its second group with 9 points (two wins, 3 draws and one defeat).
It is noteworthy that Al-Ahly is the champion of the last edition of the African Champions League competition after defeating Wydad Casablanca of Morocco with a score of (3-2) on aggregate in the two matches, back and forth.
