Ibrahim Diaz, the Spanish Real Madrid player, confirmed that he is completely convinced of his decision to represent the Moroccan national team during the coming period, stressing that he is not doing so in order to pressure him to return to the Spanish national team.

Diaz said in statements on the Spanish radio “Cadena Ser”: “My heart is divided between the two countries, Spain and Morocco, and I have never put pressure on the Spanish Federation to play with the national team. I feel that I am 100% Spanish, and also 100% Moroccan.”

He added: “Do I celebrate if I score a goal against Spain? I don’t know what to say about this matter at the moment, but I am 100% convinced of the decision to represent Morocco.”

The Real Madrid midfielder had previously given his approval to the Moroccan Football Federation, in order to represent the Moroccan national team during the coming period.

Walid Regragui, the coach of the Moroccan national team, announced his team roster yesterday, which witnessed the presence of Diaz for the first time with the Atlas Lions national team.

The 24-year-old player participated in 32 matches with Real Madrid this season, during which he scored 8 goals and provided 4 assists.
