*Pershat Pekodi – what is leadership*
In the parasha we find a repetition of the words “when God commanded Moses” 18 times, no less.
Why does the writer repeat this?
Sages explain that when a person receives an important position of being in charge of people and public affairs and by virtue of his position he gives instructions and orders, this means great honor and power for him.
In fact, his status is high and elevated above the people and the people.
There are those who direct this power to destruction and destruction, using rank for the sake of honor, and there are those who choose to motivate their people by virtue of their character.
Thus, a great leader of the people of Israel, when he was put in charge of the construction of the tabernacle, did not take upon himself honor and greatness and did not consider the important position he received to be an authority, but only performed what was assigned to him because “when God commanded him”
Moses performed his work from a place of mission and personal example, and this is one example of many that illustrates to us why Moses became the “Shepherd of Israel”
This is how we and our leader should behave,
Leading people, the main resource everywhere and in every job, is out of modesty, concern for people and a personal example.
In memory of RNA Uri Moyal who was murdered last Thursday. May his memory be blessed
