Apple has released iOS 17.4 on iPhonesThis version contains some great new features such as support for third-party app stores in select regions, and there are also new emojis and improvements to Apple Music.
Additionally, if you enjoy listening to podcasts in the Podcasts app, there is now support for transcripts and with these new transcripts, you can read while listening to your favorite podcasts.
But how do you find and enable this feature?
Transcripts provide a view of the full text of each episode that users can read along with, and even navigate through the podcast episode with.
There’s also support for searching for a keyword or phrase within the text, and you can tap on the body of the transcript to jump to that point in the episode. As the episode plays, each word is highlighted to make it easier to follow.
But how do you find the texts in the first place?
Step 1: Open the Podcasts app on your iPhone.
Step 2: Find an episode of the podcast and start playing it.
Step 3: Expand the Now Playing screen by swiping up from the bottom or selecting the audio player.
Step 4: Select the text button in the bottom left corner that looks like a speech bubble with quotes inside.
Step 5: While the loop is playing, typed text is highlighted Tap the text to jump to that point in the loop.
Step 6: Swipe down to hide the launcher controls (or allow them to hide naturally for a few seconds), this brings up the search option, select Search if you want to search for a specific word or phrase.
Step 7: Type the word or phrase you are looking for.
Step 8: The number of results will appear in real time, and you can select the arrows to jump to those points in the text.
