Benzema was suffering from a back injury, which kept him out of Al-Ittihad’s last 4 matches, including 3 matches against Al-Hilal, and one against Al-Akhdood, before the club announced his recovery and return against Al-Fateh.
But unexpectedly, the Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiah revealed that Benzema suffered a sudden setback before facing Al-Fateh scheduled for Saturday evening, within the 24th round of the Saudi Professional League.
The Saudi newspaper indicated that Benzema participated for only 5 minutes in Al-Ittihad’s recent group exercises, before he quickly left after feeling renewed pain that he had recently felt.
She explained that Karim Benzema is suffering from the same injury that he recently suffered in the lower back area, as he complained at the beginning of the training to the medical staff that he felt the same pain and quickly left the training in order to receive treatment.
The Jeddah Football Association’s medical staff decided that the French striker would undergo several new rehabilitation sessions on the injury site, which is the reason behind his exclusion from the team’s roster to face Al-Fateh.
