The current regulations give each club the right to register 30 players in its local roster, including 8 foreigners, but the new regulations, which will be implemented starting next season, will allow them to include 10 foreigners, including 2 born in 2003 or older, but only 8 of them will play in any Roshen League match. While the number will be open in the King’s Cup and the Saudi Super Cup.
The decision was greatly welcomed by the midfield clubs in particular, as well as by the technical staff of the Italian national team led by Roberto Mancini, because it will give the Saudi players in particular greater opportunities to be on the field instead of spending the season on the bench of the big clubs.
