Quick cold snap before the First Day of Spring

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Tomorrow marks the First Day of Spring, but we’ll have to get through a quick cold snap of below-freezing temperatures before it will start feeling like the season.

Today will be a downright chilly day. High temperatures will only make it to the mid-40s, but on top of that, it will also be very windy, which will create a wind chill making temperatures feel even colder than they actually are. Some wind gusts will kick up to over 20 MPH at times.

Winter is going out with a bang as low temperatures fall to the 20s overnight. Everyone across Middle Tennessee will wake up to a hard freeze Tuesday morning… which is ironically the First Day of Spring.

A warm-up begins Tuesday along with a nice, dry stretch.
