Egyptian artist Ahmed Abdel Aziz denied rumors that the reason for his absence from the artistic scene for certain years was his intention to work in commerce. He said in his television interview with media personality Asma Ibrahim on the “Ink Secret” program, “I did not work in commerce and did not create any private business.” Because I don’t have enough time to do that, and I’m busy most of the time with artistic work.

Abdel Aziz added: “Even during the period in which I moved away from the artistic scene, for many personal reasons, I did not have time to think about a commercial project.”

Regarding his response to those who criticized his previous statement, in which he said that art is treacherous, Abdel Aziz said that he did not mean only the financial aspect, but also many matters related to the artist’s situation in general, such as his age, health, the personalities he can present, and his vision of many matters related to the profession. in general.

On an artistic level, Abdel Aziz confirmed his wish to embody the life story of the Egyptian writer Dr. Taha Hussein, indicating that he has been in love with his character since he was a child and that he studied his book “The Days” extensively and that he is familiar with his life in all its details, and he believes that it is possible to present him in a way worthy of attention to the character. The late writer is loved by new generations.

Abdel Aziz pointed out that the artist Ahmed Zaki was creative in presenting the character of Taha Hussein previously with director Yahya Al-Alami, and that he embodied it brilliantly, but this does not mean that he does not dream of presenting the same character in another context.

Regarding the historical characters that he could present, Abdel Aziz said that he is currently watching the series “The Assassins” with great admiration, and that he had hoped to present the character of Hassan Al-Sabah, which is played in the series by the artist Karim Abdel Aziz. He said: “Karim plays the character with simplicity and smoothness that led him to “People’s hearts easily, and I have admired the story of the Assassins for a long time.”

In the dialogue, Abdel Aziz touched on the personality of the late artist Mustafa Darwish, noting that he met him behind the scenes of the series “Sara Al-Bataa,” and that he saw inside him a real human person and a great artist, working with all his energy and vitality, and making many charitable contributions.

Abdul Aziz confirmed that he was shocked by the news of his death, especially since he was not sick or old, noting that he felt that he was losing a friend close to his mind and heart. During the episode, Abdel Aziz also recalled the late artist Wael Nour, who was a close friend of him, and said: “Wael was from the same generation as me, and he was a very creative artist, and his death affected me very greatly, psychologically and artistically, and when Mustafa Darwish died, my memory became mixed.” With his pictures and those of Wael Nour, it is as if the story is coming back again between me and my friends.”
