It was reported on the authority of the Mother of the Believers, Mrs. Aisha, may God be pleased with her, that whenever the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, saw the rain He says: “Oh God, grant us a beneficial rain.” It was narrated by Al-Bukhari in his “Sahih,” and in a statement by Abu Dawud in “Al-Sunan” that he used to say: “Oh God, grant us a beneficial rain.”
Other than that Supplications What is said in this case: Of which:
On the authority of Anas, may God be pleased with him, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, said: “O God, around us and not against us, O God, on the hills, the mountains, the thickets, the valleys, and the treetops.” Agreed upon.
On the authority of Jabir bin Abdullah, may God be pleased with them both, he said: I saw the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, giving us a table, and he said: “O God, give us rain that is abundant, relieving, beneficial, not harmful, sooner rather than later.” Narrated by Abu Dawud in his Sunan.
What is meant to be understood from the sum of the words of the previous hadiths is the desirability of supplication when rain falls, so a person asks his Lord to make it rain beneficial to the people and the country, and not rain of torment, destruction, or drowning, as God destroyed Noah’s people with sweeping floods.
