Students from Mikif D in an exciting commemorative project in memory of the fallen

The many initiatives to commemorate the fallen from the “Iron Swords” war and the desire to commemorate those who were never cease to be emotional and this time with a particularly exciting initiative conceived by the 17th grade at the Comprehensive School D in Ashdod led by educator Eleanor Marnea.

“We’ve been working on it for about two months” – she tells Ashdod Net. “In general, we at Mikif D educate for involvement in the community as a matter of routine and this year we came out with a class initiative under the name “In their trial they commanded us life” with the goal of commemorating soldiers and security forces personnel who fell in the “Iron Swords” war through their inspirational sentences.”

As part of the project, the students turned to the families of the fallen and asked them for their inspirational quotes, and these became stickers that anyone can stick on the car or anywhere else, alongside the image of the victims – so that anyone who encounters them will get to know a little of the people they were with that quote that characterized them .

“In one way or another, the students came to the families to get their approval” – says Eleanor. “They heard about their loved ones who fell and told them about the initiative. Little by little they collected more and more quotes and finally we designed the stickers together.”

According to her, “Some of the families have already received the stickers and were very excited. In general, the initiative gave rise to many exciting moments and today we are looking for more ways to spread it.”

As mentioned, this week the students went out to hand out the stickers to passers-by at the Star Center complex. About two weeks ago, they handed them out in a shopping mall in Dimona during the stop on the way to Eilat as part of the annual trip, which they did by the way with a shirt they designed in the spirit of things.
