Major General Osama Al-Qadi, Governor of Minya, confirmed his continuous follow-up to the repercussions of the death of a resident of the village of Azaqa, affiliated to the Minya Center, after he fell into a well in the western desert desert, and the body is currently being exhumed.

According to the governor’s statement, he issued instructions to the head of the local unit and the relevant agencies of the governorate, in coordination with the Security Directorate, to quickly go to the scene of the accident, and the civil protection ground rescue team was sent and a large number of governorate equipment (4 large loaders + an excavator + a hammer + an electric generator) were sent. To assist in exhuming the body of the deceased, the Public Prosecution was notified of the incident.
This came immediately after the governorate’s operations room received a report on Tuesday afternoon, April 2, 2024, stating that a person named Taha Muhammad Abdel Aziz Hassan, 30 years old and residing in Izbat Azaqa, affiliated with the village of Toukh Al Khail, Minya Center district, had fallen into a well about 25 meters deep, in the confines of a farm on reclaimed land. In the Western Desert Desert (Village 8), Minya Center District, his cousin, Ahmed Attia Hamouda, who lives at the same address as the deceased in the same village, laid his hand. It was found that the deceased fell while alighting near the well, which led to his foot slipping. A follow-up is underway and the body is recovered.
The accident of a young man in Minya brought to mind the tragedy of the Moroccan child Rayan, who fell into a well and remained inside it for 5 continuous days before his lifeless body was recovered, despite all attempts by the relevant agencies of the Moroccan state to extract him alive.
