Today, after sunset and until dawn tomorrow, there will be a new odd-numbered night in the blessed month of Ramadan, which is the night of the 25th of Ramadan. During such last odd-numbered nights of the blessed month of Ramadan, Muslims seek Laylat al-Qadr because of its great importance.
Laylat al-Qadr prayer
There are no fixed supplications on Laylat al-Qadr, so the Muslim may pray whatever he wants on this blessed night in which the angels descend. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, urged us to take advantage of them, and it was reported on the authority of Mrs. Aisha, may God be pleased with her, that she said: I said: O Messenger of God, what do you think if I agree? Laylat al-Qadr, what should I pray for? He said: “Say: ‘O God, you are pardoning and love forgiveness, so forgive me.’”
It was also reported on the authority of Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with them both, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Seek it in the last ten nights of Ramadan; Laylat al-Qadr is at the ninth hour remaining, at the seventh week remains, and at the fifth remains.” This hadith is one of the hadiths that some scholars use as evidence that Laylat al-Qadr is one of the nights of the odd-numbered days in the month of Ramadan.
The Night of Destiny has a great and great virtue. In it, the Noble Qur’an was revealed, and in it the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Whoever performs the Night of Destiny in faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” And in it, the Almighty said: “Indeed, We sent it down on the Night of Destiny, and what can make you know what a Night it is? Destiny “The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. The angels and the spirit descend therein, by the permission of their Lord, for every matter of peace until the beginning of dawn.”
Prayers for the Night of Destiny
The Prophet’s most frequent supplication in Ramadan and other times was, “Our Lord, give us goodness in this world and goodness in the Hereafter, and protect us from the torment of the Fire,” in addition to what was reported from him, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, when he said to Mrs. Aisha: “O God, you are pardoning and love to pardon, so pardon me.”
