The match between South African Sun Downs and its guest, Young Africans, witnessed a controversial refereeing incident, after the latter scored a goal, but VAR refused to count it despite the ball crossing the goal line, in the second leg of the African Champions League quarter-finals.
Young Africans player Stephen Kee shot the ball, hitting the crossbar and crossing the goal line for the South African team Sundowns, and despite the presence of VAR technology, the goal was not awarded.

The first leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals, between Sun Downs and Young Africans, ended in a goalless draw at the Mkapa National Stadium.
The Sun Downs team is armed with ground staff and the audience in today’s match in order to snatch a ticket to the CAF Champions League semi-finals, after stumbling in the first leg.
Under the leadership of its young coach, Rulani Mokoena, Sun Downs is searching for its second CAF Champions League title, after winning the championship in 2016 against Zamalek.

Sundowns vs Young Africans
Young coach Rulani Mokoena led the Sun Downs team to win the first edition of the 2023 African Super League at the expense of Moroccan Wydad, which was his first title with Brazil in Africa.
On the other hand, Young Africans challenges Brazil Africa in front of its fans, in order to knock it out of the Champions League and qualify for the semi-finals of the continental competition.

The winner of Sundowns and Young Africans is scheduled to face the winner of ASEC Mimosas and Esperance of Tunisia, in the match that also ended in a goalless draw in the first leg at Rades Stadium.
