The famous Egyptian journalist Bassem Youssef was a guest on the “Tweeter” program broadcast on Abu Dhabi channels, where he revealed new secrets behind the scenes of his famous meeting with the British journalist Piers Morgan.
During the meeting, Bassem made his fiery statements against Morgan, where he said: “I am not interested in whether Piers Morgan changed his opinion about the Palestinian issue or not after my dialogue with him. What is important to me is the public and that I reach the issue to as many people as possible,” noting that Piers Morgan did not give him space during his dialogue, but they were surprised by it.
Bassem added: “I preferred the humanitarian approach over the religious or national approach in my dialogue with Piers Morgan regarding the Palestinian issue, because what benefits our cause is winning over the largest number of people with your opinion.”
Regarding his fame and success, Bassem said: “Fame is poison, and throughout my life I did not like my fame in Egypt. Imagine 40 million people who have an opinion about you and judge you.”
Bassem Youssef commented on the criticism directed at his media compatriot, Yasmine Ezz, saying: “I tell people, why do you take Yasmine Ezz’s words seriously? She herself knows that she is presenting a character, pointing out that he is Ahlawy and everyone knows that.
