It was decided to transfer Al-Ahly player Hussein Al-Shahat to a hospital after the end of his team’s match against Tanzania’s Simba in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, due to his injury during stoppage time of the match.

Al-Ahly officials preferred to transfer Al-Shahat to the hospital in order to receive treatment, check on his condition, and conduct the necessary x-rays to determine his medical condition, as a precautionary measure for fear that the player would suffer a concussion after the collision with a Simba player.

Al-Ahly team qualified for the semi-finals of the African Champions League after defeating Tanzania’s Simba with two clean goals in the match that brought them together on Friday evening at Cairo Stadium in the second leg of the quarter-finals of the African Championship.

The first leg, which was held in the Tanzanian capital, Dar es Salaam, ended with Al-Ahly winning 1-0, scored by Ahmed Nabil Kouka.

Al-Ahly awaits the winner of the match between Congolese Mazembe and Angola’s Petro Atletico in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals on Saturday evening.
