Circuit “12” of the Second Misdemeanor Court in Nasr City, headed by Counselor Mohamed Mubarak, ruled today, Thursday, to punish Al-Ahly club player Hussein Al-Shahat with one year in prison, suspended for 3 years.
The court fined Al-Shahat 100,000 pounds and deprived him of membership in any sports club for a period of 5 years, according to the ruling.
The court obligated Al-Shahat to pay temporary civil compensation of 100,000 pounds in favor of the victim.
Counselor Hani Bakri, the lawyer of the Moroccan international player Mohamed Al-Shaibi, said that the Public Prosecution referred the player Hussein Al-Shahat to the Nasr City Misdemeanor Court, on charges of insulting, slandering, beating, intimidation and insulting during a sporting activity.
Bakri added during media statements in the recent period that the report referred by the Public Prosecution was filed by the player personally against Al-Shahat, and neither the Pyramids Club nor Al-Ahly had anything to do with the report.
The lawyer pointed out that the player Hussein Al-Shahat, following the incident of assaulting his client, issued a statement in which he apologized for the incident to Al-Ahly Club, its fans, and the Moroccan fans, but he did not mention any apology to his client, which prompted the latter to file a report and resort to the Egyptian judiciary to preserve his right.
