Books – Mahmoud Mustafa Abu Talib:
Dr. Shawqi Allam, the Mufti of the Republic, revealed the reward and virtue of fasting Arafah, “the ninth day of the month of Dhul-Hijjah.”
The Mufti said that the Messenger of God – may God bless him and grant him peace – performed Hajj once, and he delivered his farewell sermon on this day, which is a great sermon that contains the foundations of Islam and the rules that we must adhere to, and it also includes the issue of equality between all human beings, pointing out that fasting on Arafat is an actual “sunnah” confirmed by the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, so it is permissible to fast on the day of Arafat for anyone other than the Hajj, which is the ninth day of Dhul-Hijjah, and fasting it expiates two years: a past year and a future year, as stated in the hadith.
He stressed that the first ten days of the month of Dhul-Hijjah are blessed days during which God spread divine influences and spread general mercy. They are distinguished by the gathering of the Mothers of Worship in a way that is not found in others, such as prayer, fasting, Hajj, charity, and the encouragement to do good and strive in obedience.
The Mufti congratulated President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Egyptian people, and all Arab and Islamic peoples on the occasion of “Eid Al-Adha,” calling on God Almighty to grant security and stability to our dear Egypt and its people.
This came during the Mufti of the Republic’s interview with the “Ask the Mufti” program on “Sada El Balad” channel with the journalist Hamdi Rizk.
