The Pyramids team has eliminated Zamalek Club’s hopes of participating in the African Champions League next year 2024-2025, according to the Egyptian Premier League standings in the first round of the current season, which is expected to be relied upon to test the teams participating in the African Champions League.

Pyramids was able to achieve victory, at the expense of its counterpart Smouha yesterday, with a score of three goals to none, in the postponed match between them from the 11th round of the Egyptian Premier League championship.

With this victory, Pyramids maintained its top spot in the Egyptian Premier League, after reaching the 56th point out of the 23 matches they played in the competition, while Smouha’s score stopped at point No. 35 in seventh place in the ranking table.

The Egyptian Premier League for the current season, 2023-2024, will end next August, so the teams participating in the African Champions League and Confederation Championships next season will be sent, according to the results of the first round of the current season in the league.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the opening of registration for clubs at the beginning of next July, which means that the clubs participating in the African championships will be sent by the National Federation before this date, which means relying on the arrangement of the first round in the names of the Egyptian clubs that will be announced. Sent to the African Union.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) regulations allow two teams to participate in the CAF Champions League, namely the first and second in the league, while the third and fourth placed teams participate in the Confederation competition.

Pyramids are guaranteed to participate in next year’s African Champions League, after defeating Smouha with a score of three goals to none yesterday, reaching point 35 in the ranking table from the 16 matches they played in the first round, and they have a postponed meeting from the first round with Al-Ahly remaining.

While Zamalek has 21 points in the standings, from the 13 matches it has played in the competition so far, it has 4 postponed matches remaining, and if it is able to achieve victory in its postponed matches, it will reach point No. 33, which means that Pyramids will also outperform, which has 35 points, to guarantee participation in the league. Champions next season, once the results of the first round are approved.

Al-Ahly was included in the promotion to the African Champions League next year, after it managed to achieve the championship title in the last edition, to advance directly to the next edition, without the need to be ranked in the league table, according to the regulations of the Confederation of African Football.
