British press reports revealed today, Wednesday, that the English Premier League Cup was stolen during a promotional campaign in Belgium two years ago.
The British newspaper “The Sun” reported that the English Premier League Cup, two parts of which were stolen by some thieves two years ago in Belgium.
The Sun newspaper explained that the theft incident was revealed recently after two parts of the cup worth (250,000 pounds sterling) were replaced.
The British newspaper pointed out that only two cups are made each season, one of which is kept by the winner of the English Premier League title, and the other is with the English Premier League, which promotes the competition around the world.
The newspaper continued that this incident is the first of its kind in which a trophy was stolen from one of the major clubs in English football.
Manchester City is considered the champion of the English Premier League for the last four seasons, as the “Celestial” team is scheduled to begin the campaign to defend its title against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
