The Albanian national team suppressed the uprising of its Croatian counterpart, and imposed an exciting positive draw with a score of 2-2 – today, Wednesday – in the second round of the second group of the group stage of the European Nations Cup (Euro 2024) currently being held in Germany.
The match was characterized by excitement, as its result remained pending until the last moments, with each team exchanging control over the course of events.
The Albanians took the initiative to score through Kazim Lassi in the 11th minute, before his teammates wasted many easy opportunities in the first half, which was enough to give them a large number of goals ahead of the Croatian team, runner-up in the 2018 World Cup and third in the 2022 World Cup.
In the second half, the Croatian national team rose up, with Andrej Kramaric scoring the equalizer in the 74th minute, before the second goal for the Croats came via friendly fire, after Albania national team defender Klaus Gasula scored an accidental goal against his team in the 76th minute, making this the fourth own goal in the tournament. (Euro 2024).

While everyone was preparing for the match to end with Croatia winning 2-1, Gasola was able to correct his mistake after scoring the fatal equalizer for Albania in the fifth minute of stoppage time for the second half, so that each team obtained the first point in its career in the group.
The Albanian national team is now in third place, ahead of its Croatian counterpart, who is at the bottom of the standings on goal difference.
The Croatia national team began its tournament with a 3-0 win against Spain in the first round last Saturday, while Albania lost 1-2 to Italy in the same round.
The Italian national team is scheduled to meet its Spanish counterpart in the second round of the group tomorrow, Thursday.
Croatia’s national team will conclude its matches in the group by facing its Italian counterpart (the defending champion) next Monday, while Albania will play with Spain on the same day in the final round.
The competition regulations stipulate that the winner and runner-up of each of the six groups will qualify for the round of 16, in addition to the four best third-place teams.
