The international actor and surfing coach Tamayo Perry, who was famous for his role in the movie, has died Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, after a shark attack.
Perry, 49, was surfing off the Hawaiian island of Oahu, when he was attacked by a shark and brought to shore by a jet ski.
He died on Sunday afternoon, Honolulu emergency services confirmed during a press conference. According to the BBC, emergency services arrived at Malikahana Beach, north of Oahu, around 1 p.m. local time, after a caller reported a man suffering from wounds that appeared to be… Bite by shark, paramedics pronounced Perry dead at the scene after being transported to shore.
Curt Lager, Honolulu’s acting chief of ocean safety, described Perry as a “lifeguard loved by everyone” and noted that he was well known on the north shore of Oahu.
Perry played a pirate in the fourth film in the series Pirates Of The Caribbeanwhich was released in 2011, alongside international stars Johnny Depp And Penelope Cruz And Geoffrey Rush.
Perry also participated in the 2002 sports romance film Blue Crush, appearing in Hawaii Five-0and his roles in Lost and Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle.
