Hajar Ahmed wrote, in a post on a Facebook group dedicated to consumer protection agency complaints: “I had a bad experience with a laundromat, which has many branches in New Cairo… About two and a half months ago, I called them to ask them that I have an expensive Christian Dior bag, and it contains My daughter had made a stain like this in simple colours, and I asked them whether you could remove this stain or not? They told me of course, sorry. All our work is designer and expensive bags. For your information, the price of a bag currently is approximately $5,000.”
She continued: “Because I know that I have to bring the bag to its place, they will seize it, but the problem is that the closest place to me is Dubai, and I am not traveling to Dubai at all during this period. After I contacted them, they assured me that they can clean it easily, and that they also use the same materials that Christian Dior uses.”
She added: “I said, ‘I will give you the bag and see if you will know or not. If not, send it to me.’ I confirmed to them more than 50 times. They told me that we have a technician who will also determine whether he can do this or not, and we will not risk it, sorry, of course.”
