Real Madrid Football Club, after activating the option to acquire the rights to the player Joselu Mato from RCD Espanyol, has reached an agreement with Qatari sports club Al-Gharafa Sports Club for the transfer of the player.
Joselu joined Real Madrid’s youth academy in 2010 at the age of 20 and played for Castilla for two seasons, helping them to promotion to the second division in the 2011–12 season.
In the 2023-2024 season, in which he played for the first team, Joselu played 49 matches, scored 18 goals and won three titles: Champions League (1), Spanish League (1) and Spanish Super Cup (1).
With his two goals in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich, Joselu played a major role in reaching the Wembley final and winning the Champions League.
Real Madrid would like to thank Joselu for his professionalism and Madridista spirit, express its love and affection for him and all his family and wish them the best of luck in this new stage of their lives.
