The beginning of this June witnessed the resolution of what was being raised about the existence of a crisis between the national team star, Mohamed Salah, and the team’s new technical staff under the leadership of Hossam Hassan.
This is the crisis that was talked about after Salah missed the first camp of the national team under the leadership of Hossam Hassan last March due to the injury he suffered in the 2023 African Cup of Nations, causing him to miss the friendly Egyptian Championship competitions.
Hossam Hassan then came out to deny what was being circulated regarding his relationship with Mohamed Salah, saying: “We communicate with him normally, as he is one of the best players in the world, and there is no crisis between me and him, and this is a fact that cannot be discussed.”
Salah joined the national team camp in early June after spending a short vacation with his family following the end of his 2023/2024 season with Liverpool.
Under the leadership of technical director Hossam Hassan, Mohamed Salah played two matches in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup during the month of June.
The national team defeated its guest, Burkina Faso, in their first match in the third round, with a score of 2-1. Where Mohamed Salah made a goal.
However, the team stumbled to a 1-1 draw when it was a guest in the second match against its counterpart, Guinea-Bissau. Where Salah scored the equalizing goal.
