Al-Ittihad settles on Stefano Pioli

Ramon Planes, the sporting director of Al-Ittihad Club, and the officials of the sports committee have settled on the Italian Stefano Pioli, the former coach of Milan, to lead Al-Ittihad next season.

Sources explained that many files were put on Planes’ table for coaches, including the name of Marco Silva, the coach of Fulham, but the Spaniard believes that Pioli is the most suitable choice for the Al-Ittihad team in the coming period, to replace the Argentine Marcelo Gallardo, whom the Al-Ittihad team is working to complete the contract with before announcing the signing of Pioli.
.
Pioli led Milan in his last match in 240 matches, achieving a 54 percent win rate; he won 130 matches, drew 58, and lost 52. Pioli’s team managed to score 421 goals, while conceding 270.

The Italian coach has coached 13 clubs in his career, the most prominent of which are the two Milan clubs, Inter Milan and AC Milan, in addition to the Italian capital team Lazio, and many Italian teams in different divisions.
