GALLERY | Rolling Monkey celebrates National Ice Cream Day with Christmas in July block-party

Rolling Monkey invited the community to celebrate National Ice Cream Day with delicious desserts, a water slide, a car show, trivia and a special visitor from the North Pole. Owners Garrett and Meagan Clark brought fun to the plaza off of Northside Drive with music, smiles and vibes, ‘rolling’ into their fifth National Ice Cream Day at the shop. Check out these pictures from the event!

Garrett and Meagan Clark have enjoyed inspiring the Statesboro community with their award winning rolled ice cream concept, leading passionate artisans to create a one of a kind dessert experience for every customer. This year, to celebrate National Ice Cream Day, they invited Santa Claus, car enthusiasts and ice cream lovers to enjoy a community party.

“The community has been so supportive of us. We’ve won best ice cream in the ‘Boro for six consecutive years, and for us, this is an opportunity to give back to the community. We throw a block party! The water slide is free for the kids, a car show, and then we do trivia giveaways all day,” said Meagan Clark.

This year, the theme was Christmas in July, complete with a special Little Debbie Chirstmas Tree flavored ice cream and a visit from Santa, who came to take pictures in his ‘beachbum’ summer vacation gear.

“We have a lot of really cool cars out here today. I think the kids are enjoying the waterslide, and trivia is going well. I see a lot of happy faces getting to spin the wheel,” said Clark.

With many customers visiting for the special occasion, ice cream artisans set up shop outside as well, staying cool under the shade of the walkway. These ice cream stands will be at Paulson Stadium this fall.

Half of the fun is the show! Artisans draw pictures and write your name; they do this all upside-down so you can read it!

No ice cream is complete with out the smile on the side. The Clarks say that putting their employees first helps them put the customer first and curate the best ‘vibes’ at Rolling Monkey.
