The Olympic Games in Paris are in full swing. When today (Friday) Daria Atmanov competed in the finals of the individual combat competition and finished in fifth place overall. The artistic gymnast began her journey in the qualifiers yesterday, finishing seventh overall with a total of 130.450 points.
During the final, Atmanov performed four exercises – ball, hoop, ribbon and clubs, when at the end of all exercises, the artistic gymnast received her final score and her overall position in the competition. The Israeli of course wanted to repeat the amazing achievement of Linoy Ashram, who won the gold medal in the individual all-around at the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020, but will settle for fifth place in the end.
Atmanov, who came second in each exercise, performed the hoop exercise in an excellent manner and recorded a good start with a score of 35.200. The Israeli team appealed the score, thinking that Daria deserved a higher score, but the appeal was not accepted, the score remained the same and the gymnast finished in fifth place in the ranking after the first exercise.
Later, Daria competed in the ball exercise, which she performed poorly to say the least, when she lost the ball and needed two and a half steps to reach it. The Israeli gymnast finished the exercise with a score of 31.800, in ninth place in the exercise and dropped to sixth place in the overall ranking.
The third exercise, the ball exercise, Atmanov performed well and received a good score of 33.850. The Israeli team again filed an appeal, but once again the request was denied and the grade remained the same. The Israeli finished the exercise in seventh place, and kept the sixth place in the overall ranking.
Daria performed the fourth and last exercise in the battle finals, the ribbon exercise, in a great way and earned a score of 33.000, third place overall in the exercise which brought her to fifth place in the overall ranking. With this, Atmanov officially ended her journey at the Olympic Games in Paris with a total score of 133.850 in the final.
