Pyramids FC continues its journey in the African Champions League, after defeating JKU, the champion of Zanzibar, in the round of 64 of the tournament.
Pyramids defeated Zanzibar champion JKU 9-1 on aggregate, qualifying for the current stage and set a date with the Rwandan army team.

At that time, Pyramids defeated the Rwandan army (6-1) in the two-match aggregate, as they tied the first leg without goals away from home, then the Sky Blues swept their guest in the second leg at the Air Defense Stadium.
