The derby della Madonina may well be Paolo Fonseca’s last game as Milan coach. If he does not beat Inter, the Portuguese may lose the position he received only at the beginning of this season, and in Italy they claim that the one who may succeed him is Edin Trezic.
The ex-Borussia Dortmund man was even present in the San Siro stands on Tuesday when Milan suffered a painful 3:1 defeat by Liverpool. In the land of the boot it was reported that the Rossoneri have already started “indirect” talks with him and Terzic is the leading candidate to coach the team if Fonseca is fired early next week.
The German-Croatian spent almost his entire professional career in Dortmund, with the exception of two years in Besiktas and another two years in West Ham. After serving in a number of positions at the club from the Bundesliga, Trezic led Dortmund to the Champions League final last season where the yellow-blacks lost to Real Madrid.
While Terzic is the preferred name among the Milan people in case Fonseca does not get the team back on track, he is not the only one. Maurizio Sarri and Thomas Tuchel are also on the Rossoneri’s lists.
Fonseca, who arrived in the summer from Lille, won one game out of five that Milan had in all competitions since the beginning of the season.
