Media figure Amr Adeeb said that the reputation of the late billionaire Mohamed Al Fayed was tarnished in London after accusations were made against him of rape and sexual assault against a number of former employees of the luxury Harrods store in the British capital.

Adeeb added, during his program “Al Hekaya” on MBC Masr, that investigations have begun into the charges of sexual assault against more than 20 girls working at “Harrods” who have filed complaints with the British judiciary.

The presenter of “Al Hekaya” asked: Did the former owner of the British crown jewel, “Harrods”, need to resort to multiple rapes of girls? The coming days may reveal many facts about the incident.

London’s luxury department store Harrods has apologised for allegations that its former owner, businessman Mohamed Al Fayed, raped and sexually assaulted a number of former employees, saying it was “absolutely appalled” by the allegations.

More than 20 former Harrods employees have accused Fayed, who died last year aged 94, of sexually assaulting them, according to an in-depth investigation by the BBC, with one of them saying she was assaulted when she was 15 and Fayed was 79.
