The White House: Information about an Iranian attack “very close” to Israel

The Jordanian Public Security Directorate said in a statement on Tuesday that Royal Air Force aircraft and air defense systems intercepted many missiles and drones that entered Jordanian airspace.

Reuters also quoted witnesses as saying that “Iranian missiles were intercepted in Jordanian airspace as they were flying towards Jerusalem.”

The Jordanian army announced the reopening of the Kingdom’s airspace to the movement of incoming and departing aircraft after Jordanian ground anti-aircraft missiles and the air force responded to hundreds of missiles launched from Iran and shot them down inside five Jordanian governorates.

The Jordanian Public Security Directorate, for its part, confirmed two minor injuries and asked citizens to stay in their homes and stay away from the remnants of Iranian missiles that were dropped in Jordan.

The directorate called on citizens to “heed the warnings from the army as a result of the Royal Air Force aircraft and air defense systems dealing with many missiles and drones that entered Jordanian airspace.”

On Tuesday evening, Iran launched dozens of missiles and drones towards Israel.

Sounds of explosions were heard while dozens of missiles were seen passing through the sky of Amman, according to an Agence France-Presse reporter and photographer.

Jordanians shared on social media pictures and short video clips of missiles in the sky of the Kingdom, and others of fragments that fell in various areas.

A statement issued by the Jordanian Ministry of Interior indicated that “several fragments of objects fell in different governorates,” explaining that “resulting in two minor injuries.”

The Jordanian Public Security Directorate urged citizens to “follow instructions and stay in their homes, as they are the safest under these emergency circumstances, in order to preserve their safety.”

She called on them “not to approach, deal with, or gather near any other fallen objects until the competent teams arrive,” stressing “the necessity of reporting them and the places where they fell to ensure their safety and avoid human and material losses.”

The Civil Aviation Regulatory Authority had announced earlier Tuesday in a statement the temporary suspension of air traffic in the Kingdom’s airspace in conjunction with Iran’s launching of missiles towards Israel.
