World Teachers’ Day…celebrating the achievements of teachers and promoting the importance of education

The Kingdom participates, represented by the Ministry of Education. In celebration of International Teacher’s Day, which falls on October 5 of each year; With the aim of highlighting the achievements of teachers and the importance of education; This day was designated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1994 AD. Various public education institutions, universities and colleges implement a diverse system of programs, including exhibitions, lectures and seminars, which contribute to consolidating the status of the teacher and his basic role. To build the future and contribute to the continuation of scientific and practical life, in addition to organizing campaigns through social media to raise awareness about the importance of the role of teachers in society, and cultural evenings; To demonstrate the value of education in developing societies.

The teaching profession offers a unique opportunity to leave a sustainable impact capable of transforming the lives of others, and to contribute to shaping the future and self-realization. This march also supports the launch of various activities that are held in appreciation of this lofty profession, and builds ways that push educational systems and societies to appreciate the efforts of teachers and participate clearly in supporting them.

The largest mural honoring male and female teachers will also be inaugurated on the occasion of International Teachers’ Day. With the participation of a number of government sectors and various segments of society, in cooperation with the Jeddah Governorate Municipality and the Distinguished Initiatives Association; Which is expected to enter the Guinness Book of Records; During which 1,000 male and female teachers will be honored in appreciation of their role in education.

The 90-meter-long mural documents; Located on Jeddah Corniche, the feelings of 30,000 people from various segments of society; And their sincere expression of the teacher, who is the basic building block and important pillar in creating generations; Its activities continue for 6 days.
