In a strange incident of its kind, a video clip taken by a glider pilot while flying in the skies of Egypt documented the presence of a dog at the top of the Great Pyramid of Giza.
Social media pioneers circulated a video clip of glider pilot Alex Lang documenting this strange discovery while flying over the Great Pyramid of Giza, which is the largest of the 118 pyramids in Egypt.
Lang, a tourist exploring the pyramids from the sky, shared stunning footage on social media of the moment he spotted the dog.
Tourists usually take parachute tours over ancient monuments in Egypt, specifically the pyramids, because climbing them is prohibited. While documenting his tour, Lang noticed some movement at the top of the ancient structure, and found a dog chasing birds at the top of the pyramid.
The snapshot went viral on social media after adventure athlete Marshall Mosher shared it on Instagram. He asked his followers, “A dog climbed the Great Pyramid of Giza! Do you think he lives there?”
In the comments, viewers made fun of the dog, and one said, “None of his friends will believe him.”
It was not clear how the dog got there, or whether it got down. The brave dog seemed unfazed by the extreme altitude as he barked at birds on top of one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
In a later video, Mosher took to the sky to see if the “most famous dog” was still at the top.

However, as soon as he was able to look at the top of the Giza Pyramid, the dog disappeared, prompting the question, “Where do you think he went?”
The unexpected sightings of the dog left many social media users puzzled, as climbing the Great Pyramid is completely prohibited due to concerns about maintaining the integrity of the pyramid, so the dog’s ascent, apparently without assistance, sparked curiosity and questions on the Internet, as netizens shared a group of… Comments.
One X platform user wrote, “This is his pyramid now. He conquered it.” Another joked: “That’s not a dog. That’s the Egyptian god Anubis. He’s considered the guide of the dead in the afterlife and the protector of tombs. That’s why he’s on top of the pyramid.” Another added: “How did this crazy dog get so high. I’m not convinced.”
The Great Pyramid of Giza, located in Egypt, is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and is 455 feet high.
It holds the title of the tallest human-built structure in the world for approximately 4,000 years. This majestic structure was built around 2580-2565 BC during the reign of Pharaoh Khufu, and is the largest of the three pyramids in Giza. Today, the Great Pyramid is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, protected and preserved through ongoing restoration efforts.
