Michael Emenalo, sports director of the Saudi League, believes that the transfer of Mohamed Salah, the English Liverpool star, to the Saudi League depends on the desire of the Reds star.

Mohamed Salah’s contract with Liverpool expires at the end of the current season, and the club and the player have not reached an agreement for renewal yet.

Michael Emenalo said in statements during a podcast presented by John Obi Mikel, the former Chelsea star: “The decision of Salah to join the Saudi League depends on him, as the player is the one who makes the decision.”

He added: “There is a very clear process. When a club knows that it has the money and capabilities to sign a player like Salah, he must apply to us, and if he is the first to come forward and show his interest, we allow him to make the first attempt.”

He continued: “But first, this should not be to try to prevent other clubs from getting the opportunity to negotiate. We must ensure that the resources are available to them and they have the need for it. You cannot just reserve all the names.”

He concluded: “If a contract with Salah is available, you can find 7 clubs applying for it and even all 18 clubs, but you must ensure that there is the financial capacity to do so, as there is a budget and many of these clubs may have already spent their budget.”
