Gharbia – Marwa Shaheen:

As the anniversary of Sayyid Al-Badawi’s birth approaches, the city of Tanta, in Gharbia Governorate, turns into a destination for devotees who come in thousands from all over the world to celebrate this occasion, due to its spirituality and the shedding of worries.

“I am from Upper Egypt and I am sitting next to me to throw away my worries.” With these words, Abu Al-Futouh Ibrahim, from Luxor Governorate, began his talk to Masrawy, explaining that he is keen every year to come from Al-Toud Center in Luxor Governorate, in order to celebrate and attend the birth of the Sheikh of the Arabs, Al-Sayyid Al-Badawi, and sit Next to the shrine for a whole week until the final night, I feel psychologically comfortable, and I wish I could live next to it.

“Here the sorrows go away.” With this phrase, Al-Mutawali Hegazy captured the main points of the conversation, narrating that he comes every day throughout the week of the celebration of Sayyid Al-Badawi from Qalyubia Governorate to the city of Tanta, taking the train, in order to attend the celebration, sit in the dhikr circles, and perform the prayers within the mosque, and he is also keen to Overnight on the final night.

Mr. Irfan, a follower of the Ahmadiyya order who resides in Sharqiyah Governorate, continues: “Every year we attend the Mawlid and spend a whole week, making sure to visit the shrines and the foot of the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace. I know every place in the mosque. The shrine of Sayyid al-Badawi has been in existence since the year 675 AH and 1276 AD. It is a corner set up by his students around his grave until it expanded to the current space.

He explains: “Next to the shrine of Sheikh Sidi Mujahid, Ahmed Hijab, Nour al-Din, and Sidi Abd al-Rahman, next to a stone bearing the footprint of the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace,” adding that there is another celebration that takes place in the month of May, called the Rajabi Mawlid or the Rajabiyya of Sayyid al-Badawi, in reference to To a merchant named Rajab Al-Asili, who prepared a covering for the shrine every year at that time, and brought it on the back of a camel in the middle of a large procession.

Irfan goes on to say, “Al-Sayyid Al-Badawi is called several titles, including the Sheikh of the Arabs, due to his generous presence, the Masked One, because he used to cover his face all the time in summer and winter, Al-Stuhi, because he spent a long period of time on the roof, Abu Al-Fatayn, and others like Al-Issawi, Abu Al-Abbas, and Al-Attab.” And the ascetic.”

While speaking to Masrawy, and in the middle of the crowd, a family was sitting in one of the corners of the shrine, listening to the father’s explanation and introduction with all listening ears about the shrine and its owner: “For the first time I bring my family with me, I always attended alone, from Menoufia Governorate, and this year I decided to accompany my family.” “, says Abu Al-Enein Abdel Fattah, who decided to travel with his family this year in order to celebrate the birthday and buy sweets for the children.

As soon as you leave the mosque square, tents are lined up on both sides, decorations illuminate the roads and streets, and devotees come from all over the republic, and others from different countries.

Sheikh Abdul Jawad says: “Every Sufi order has a group of tents, which are prepared to receive devotees and visitors, food and drink are provided, and in the evening dhikr circles are held. We are all one and the basis of Sufism is asceticism. The rich are based on serving the poor. Everyone here is equal. We make sure to set up this tent every year on the birthday of Mr. Al-Badawi.
