Zamalek defeats Pyramids and qualifies for the Egyptian Super Cup final sports

The Zamalek team qualified for the final of the Egyptian Football Super Cup after a 5-4 victory over Pyramids on penalties, after the regular time of the match that was held today, Sunday, at Al Nahyan Stadium in the Emirati capital, Abu Dhabi, ended in a 1-1 draw.

Zamalek will play in the final next Thursday against the winner of the Al-Ahly and Ceramica Cleopatra confrontation, which will be held later in the day.

Zamalek goalkeeper Mohamed Awad saved the fifth penalty kick for Pyramids, which was executed by Mostafa Fathi. While Zamalek successfully scored 5 kicks to secure the victory.

Ibrahim Adel opened the scoring in the 14th minute after Ramadan Sobhi played a smart pass between Zamalek’s defenders that reached Adel, who met the ball with a direct shot into the narrow corner of goalkeeper Mohamed Awad’s goal.

Seif El-Din Al-Jaziri scored the equalizer in the 40th minute after Nasser Maher passed in a wonderful way through the Pyramids defense on the right side, then passed a low cross, which the Tunisian striker met with a direct shot into the goal from close range.

Ramadan Sobhi missed a penalty kick for Pyramids in the 52nd minute, after his shot hit the right post and then bounced off the foot of Mohamed Awad, the Zamalek goalkeeper, and went out of the danger zone.

The referee canceled a goal for Pyramids in stoppage time due to offside.

The two teams shared control of the first half, but without posing a real threat to the goals.

Zamalek demanded a penalty kick at the end of the half after Mustafa Shalaby fell inside the area, but referee Mohamed Maarouf ordered play to continue.

Zamalek winger Shalabi wasted a dangerous opportunity after he failed to control a forward pass that almost put him in a one-on-one position.

Pyramids goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shenawy blocked a powerful shot from Zamalek player Konrad Michalak in the 74th minute.

Ahmed Sayed (Zizou) wasted an easy opportunity for Zamalek in the 85th minute after he met a cross pass with a weak direct shot into the goalkeeper’s hands.
